Srinagar Nov 23: Two boys were arrested today for assault on a journalist in old city Srinagar during a traffic drive by Police.
Police said that during a traffic drive at Jamallatta, a journalist, Sajad Ahmad Khan, resident of Qamerwari and associated with Athwaas Channel, was assaulted by unknown individuals, resulting in minor injuries.
The timely action by SHO Mahrajgunj led to arrest of two persons identified as Rashid Beigh of Zaniakadal and Shezan Riyaz of Batyar Aalikadal.
They were identified on the basis of a CCTV footage.
A case under FIR No. 47/2024 US 115(2) 326(2)BNS has been registered under relevant sections at Police Station M R Gunj.
