ABVP protests against neglect of Sanskrit subject in referred posts

JAMMU, Nov 23: Activists of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad today staged a silent protest outside the Jammu University, expressing their outrage and disappointment over the complete exclusion of Sanskrit subject in the posts recently referred by the School Education Department to JK Public Service commission.
Students and scholars of Jammu University’s Sanskrit Department took part in the silent protest, expressing their concerns over the matter.
The protesting ABVP activists raised slogans against the School Education Department and accused the Government of intentionally ignoring Sanskrit subject.
The department has referred 575 posts to the Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission (JKPSC), but not even a single post is meant for Sanskrit subject. This has left the Sanskrit scholars and students feeling marginalized and ignored.
ABVP Jammu and Kashmir State Media Convenor Ramnik Sharma, who was leading the protest, said that this was not the first instance of neglect towards the Sanskrit. He alleged a conspiracy to obliterate Sanskrit at the college level, as it has not been introduced as a course.
ABVP demanded that the Education Minister must provide justice to Sanskrit students and scholars by offering posts in the subject as soon as possible. Sharma warned the administration of a massive protest if action is not taken within a reasonable time.
