JAMMU, Dec 7: St. John’s Rehabilitation Centre, a wing of Catholic Social Service Society (CSSS), here today organised a function to showcase talents and abilities of individuals with disabilities while spreading the message of inclusivity.
The program began with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp and a prayer dance performed by special children. Sr. Stani Therese CMC welcomed the gathering.
Special children and students from the Participatory Knowledge Centre (PKC), Nagrota, performed captivating dances including the lively Lungi Dance and Punjabi folk dances. Dogri Couple Dance and Punjabi Bhangra showcased the cultural richness of the region. A unique and creative Kitchen Orchestra by special children mesmerized the audience.
Students from MIER delivered a skit titled ‘There is ability in every disability’.
Ivan Pereira, Bishop of Jammu-Srinagar Diocese, addressed the audience as the guest of honour.
Kirandeep Kour, Block Development Officer Phallian Mandal, was chief guest.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Fr. Senoj Thomas, Director of CSSS.
