Four bovines rescued

JAMMU, Dec 23: Jammu Police has rescued four bovine animals while performing naka checking duty at Bikram Chowk.
In a swift action during the intervening night of December 22 and 23, a naka party from the Nehru Market Police Post intercepted a Tata load carrier (registration number JK19A-3092) at Bikram Chowk. Upon inspection, the police discovered four bovine animals tied and loaded in a cruel and inhumane manner, in violation of animal welfare laws.
The naka team promptly rescued the animals, ensuring their safety. However, the driver of the vehicle managed to flee the scene, taking advantage of the darkness. Police have registered a case under relevant sections of the law and have initiated efforts to identify and apprehend the accused.
Authorities assured that strict action would be taken against those involved in the illegal transportation of animals.
