SAMBA, Feb 11: Police in Samba district claimed today they have foiled a bovine smuggling bid by rescuing 31 animals from the clutches of the smugglers. A vehicle used in the transportation of the animals was also seized.
Acting on specific information, a team of police station Samba, led by SHO concerned intercepted a truck (PB13BC-4295) for checking at SIDCO Chowk Samba, a police official said.
He said during checking, the police team found 31 animals laden inside the vehicle in a cruel manner without any valid pass or permission. They were rescued and shifted to a safer place, he said.
Accordingly, a case FIR number 45/2025 under sections 223 BNS and 11 PCA was registered at Police Station Samba and further investigation taken up.
