SRINAGAR, Mar 11: Member Legislative Assembly (MLA) Hazratbal, Salman Ali Sagar, today strongly raised concerns over the regularization of daily wagers, casual labourers, HDF employees, CIC operators, NYC workers, and other temporary staff in the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly.
He also called for a one-time electricity amnesty to alleviate the financial burden on consumers struggling with pending dues.
Welcoming the Government’s decision to form a committee to examine these issues, Sagar emphasized the urgency of swift action to provide justice for the affected workers and offer relief to consumers burdened by electricity arrears.
The MLA highlighted that thousands of workers have been providing dedicated service across various Government departments for years without job security or timely wages.
“Despite their commitment, their future remains uncertain,” he said.
He urged the Government to expedite their regularization to ensure long-term stability and dignity for these workers.
Sagar also pressed for a one-time electricity amnesty, which would waive penalties and interest on pending electricity bills, providing much-needed relief to consumers.
“The formation of a committee is a positive step, but the Government must act promptly to address these issues. Workers and consumers are waiting for immediate relief,” Sagar stated, reaffirming his commitment to advocating for these pressing concerns until a fair resolution is reached.
