Azadi Ka Amrut Mohatsav: Multilingual Mushaira organised in Bhadarwah jail

Bhadarwah: To involve jail inmates in cultural activities to reduce their stress, District Jail Bhadarwah organised a multilingual Mushaira on Wednesday as a part of Azadi Ka Amrut Mohatsav.
On the occasion, Superintendent District Jail Bhadarwah Mushtaq Malla was the chief guest, while Assistant Superintendent Anayat ullah presided over the function. Inmate Qari Abdul Qayoom conducted proceedings of the function.
To refresh the minds of inmates, Multi-lingual Mushaira, in which poets from different parts of Bhadarwah participated was organised by District Jail Bhadarwah.
The Mushaira was a part of 7 days programmes under Azadi ka Amrut Mohatsav, in which Poets rendered their poetry in Urdu, Bhadarwahi, Kashmiri and Punjabi. Beside jail inmates also presented their poetries.
Speaking on the occasion, Superintendent District Jail Bhadarwah Mushtaq Malla said as a part of Azadi Ka Amrut Mohatsav, we organised several events including Cultural programmes and sports events since last 7 days and today’s Mushaira was also a part of it.
He said that the aim of Mushaira was to provide some relief to the inmates from the stress atmosphere, also provide them a platform to showcase their talent.
He also said that it’s also a part of reformation of prisoners. He highlighted that the Department is working towards making jails self-reliant and providing better living conditions and training facilities to the inmates.
Jail inmates also expressed their gratitude towards Superintendent District Jail Bhadarwah for the event and hope that such programmes would be organized in future also.
The poets who rendered their poetry include Imtiaz ur Rehman Tanha, Ashiq Hussain Ashiq, Shaban Shaban and others.
