JAMMU, Apr 4: Two alleged drug peddlers were arrested with 27.77 grams of heroin in RS Pura area here, police said today.
They said around 6:30 PM on April 3, an Alto car (JK02AH-1456) coming from Chak Aslam towards RS Pura was signalled to stop for checking by a team of Police Station RS Pura but its driver tried to evade the naka.
The alert police party, however, chased the vehicle and detained two suspects identified as Dheeraj Choudhary and Shubham Kumar, both residents of Chohala Kothey, tehsil RS Pura, district Jammu, police said.
On their search, 27.77 grams of heroin was recovered from their possession, they said.
Accordingly, the accused were booked in case FIR number 60/2025 under sections 8/21/22/29/60 of the NDPS Act registered at Police Station RS Pura and further investigation taken up, added the police.
