SRINAGAR, Apr 11: In a major blow to drug trafficking networks, J&K Police in Anantnag district today attached properties worth approximately Rs 1.2 crore under various provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.

Police said acting under Section 68-F of the NDPS Act, they attached a residential house and one kanal of land in Sallar, valued at Rs 70 lakhs, belonging to Bashir Ahmad Wani, involved in a 2018 narcotics case.
In a separate action, police seized a residential house and a vehicle of Tajdar Amin Khan of Goriwan Bijbehara and a shopping complex owned by Bilal Ahmad Itoo of Gund Nasir, Bijbehara.
Additionally, a vehicle owned by Harjinder Singh of Kapurthala, Punjab, was attached in a separate FIR.
“The combined estimated market value of the properties seized in these cases stands at Rs 1.2 crore,” the police said.
Police said these actions reflect a determined effort to target the financial assets of drug traffickers and serve as a strong deterrent against the narcotics trade.
