NYK Udhampur involves DDC Chairman, women groups, teachers, forest officials in clean India campaign

UDHAMPUR: Nehru Yuva Kendra Udhampur, Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports (Govt. of India) organised cleanliness and plastic eradication drives at different locations to ensure participation of all strata of society. In Block Udhampur, the cleanliness drive was organised at Govt. High School Malhar with participation of all the staff members. Village beautification was also done at iconic Salal Bowli in Village Barola where DDC Chairman Lal Chand also participated and eradicated weeds as well as unnecessary shrubs. It is pertinent to mention that Salal Bowli is of a great historical significance since 1948.
Similar activities were also organised at Govt. Middle School Khoon from where more than 15 Kg of plastic was eradicated in the day long cleanliness drive. In Block Parlidhar, NYV Sulekha Devi organised cleanliness drive at Govt. Primary School Tassar whereas in Block Ghordi, NYVs Arpna and Ajay organised cleanliness drive at Govt. High school Jagir and Govt. High School Ressian. In Block Narsoo, the plastic eradication drive was organised by NYVs Shilpa and Anu in Govt. Middle School Simbal Nala.
In Block Majalta, NYVs Ansuya, Preeti, Sapna and Karan organised cleanliness drive at Wildlife Office Mansar from where 13 Kg plastic was collected and disposed. NYV Pooja in Moungri organised cleanliness drives at multiple places including Anganwadi Center Lalli and in Panchayat Damnote in presence of Panch Sh. Karan Singh and Ex-Sarpanch Sh. Dharam Singh. In Block Kukwanta, NYV Rakesh covered Anganwadi Center Manyal Barrian and Govt. Middle School Kansala and collected 30 Kg plastic. Door to door campaigns to collect and eradicate plastic were witnessed in Ghordi, Basantgarh, Latti and Panchari Blocks of the district.
It is pertinent to mention that more than 12000 Kgs of plastic waste has been eradicated by the volunteers of NYK Udhampur so far keeping in view the participation of every village of the district in India’s largest cleanliness drive.
