STATE TIMES NEWS DODA: District Development Commissioner (DDC) Doda, Vikas Sharma on Friday discussed the contours of a plan for traffic congestion, Beautification and addressing other civic issues here at a meeting with the President Municipal Council and Councillors held in the DC office. The meeting decided to constitute a District Level Empowered Committee to frame a comprehensive plan for face-lifting of the township, resolving the problem of traffic congestion and addressing other civic problems. The meeting also reviews the progress of works pertaining to PWD, PHE and Traffic department. The DDC directed the Ex En PWD to execute the works identified under My Town My Pride initiative and proposed under 14th FC on a war footing basis. He was asked to blacklist the contractors who breach the agreement and hampered the pace of developmental works. The department was asked to submit the MPR of all works to the MC for close monitoring of the pace of work. With regard to leakages and choking of drains in the town, the DDC directed the Xen Jal Shakti to examine the issue and submit a comprehensive report in this regard. Moreover the DDC directed the executing agencies not to start any work in the jurisdiction of Doda town without the prior NOC of MC. Regarding Traffic decongestion, the DDC directed to constitute a District Level Empowered Committee which shall be headed by ADC Doda to examine the entire situation and to endorse recommendations for improving the traffic scenario, besides the Committee shall also submit the recommendations regarding beautification plan. The President MC apprised that various works under 14th FC are under liability from more than 2 years. The DDC directed the planning section to constitute a committee which will examine the status of works and submit the report in 15 days so that necessary action is taken. The ARTO was directed to paste the rate list of auto fare at all public places from point to point and ensure the regulation of traffic. While reviewing the PMAY status, it was informed that more than 100 cases are pending for title verification. The DDC directed the EO MC to take up the matter with the Tehsildar and get all the cases cleared within 15 days positively. The meeting was also attended by CAHO, DIO, Dy SP traffic, besides other officers were also present.
