Leh: Celebrating the Iconic Week of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav, Government Degree College (GDC) Nobra organized an event to felicitate students who excelled in various activities organized by the college.
Deputy Chairman LAHDC Leh Tsering Angchuk was the Chief Guest on the occasion while Sub Divisional Magistrate Nubra Lakshay Singhal was the Guest of Honour.
Councillor Hunder Constituency Kunzang Lotus and Executive Engineer PWD Nubra Dr Tsewang Thinles were special guests on the occasion. Principal Government Degree College Nubra Dr Tsewang Motup briefed about various activities conducted by the college during the current academic session. He also highlighted the various issues faced by the college such as infrastructure, transportation, electricity etc. Student representatives Razia and Padma Dolma put forth their concerns. SDM Nubra assured to redress the grievances of the students at his own level in a phased manner.
Deputy Chairman LAHDC Leh distributed the prizes among the students who bagged prizes in debate and quiz competitions at inter college competitions of UT Ladakh. He promised to provide solar power plants considering the hardships faced by the college and the students in smooth conduct of all the activities.
He addressed other grievances of the students and also emphasized on the benefits of taking admissions in Nubra College where they will have more opportunities. Councillor Hunder Constituency Kunzang Lotus assured to release an amount of Rs 1 lakh from his constituency fund to convert the storehouse into a Sports complex.
