JKTF’s delegation meets Education Minister

JAMMU, Apr 18: A delegation comprising the Jammu Kashmir Teachers Forum (JKTF), led by its chief patron Ganesh Khajuria met with Minister of Education, Sakeena Itoo here today.
The delegation expressed their gratitude to the Minister for the swift and effective decisions regarding the promotions, transfers and adjustments of Principals, CEOs and Headmasters within a short period.
During the meeting, the delegation raised their issues included holding of DPCs (Departmental Promotion Committees) for Masters, timely promotions of Masters to Lecturers to fill vacancies and strengthen higher secondary education. Transfers under ATD (Annual Transfer Drive), especially considering the cases of employees suffering from terminal or chronic illnesses. Rationalization of staff based on the Pupil-Teacher Ratio (PTR) to ensure equitable distribution of teachers and regularization of In-Charge (I/C) cadres, including Lecturers, Headmasters, Principals, CEOs and other administrative posts in the Education Department.
The Minister gave a patient hearing to all the concerns and assured the deputation that active steps are already underway.
She informed the forum that necessary instructions have been given to the concerned authorities for the effective and timely implementation of these issues.
The meeting concluded on a positive note, with mutual commitment towards the betterment of the educational ecosystem in Jammu and Kashmir.
Those who were the part of deputation included Surat Singh Toofani, Darshan Sharma, Kuldeep Singh Bandral, Gautam Singh, P D Singh, Pawan Sharma, Ashwani Sharma, Saika, Kanchan Menia, Rajul Tak, Ashwani Raina, Jatinder Singh, Iqvinder Pal Singh, Gurbachan Singh, Gurmeet Singh, Surinder Choudhary and K D Singh.
