RAMBAN, Apr 25: Police here today booked a notorious drug peddler under PIT, NDPS Act.
Source informed that a notorious drug peddler Mohammad Younus, son of Abdul Salam Sheikh, resident of Ward number 1, near Higher Secondary School Ramban was taken in preventive detention under the provisions of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substance Act for his repeatedly involvement in selling and distributing contraband narcotics among the populace of Ramban and its adjoining areas.
Police said that on the directions of SSP Ramban, Kulbir Singh a dossier was prepared and submitted to the competent authority for approval.
Subsequently, the case was processed and after obtaining sanction from the competent authority the drug peddler was detained under PIT NDPS Act and lodged in District Jail Udhampur.
