Theft case solved; two arrested, stolen batteries recovered

JAMMU: Police on Saturday solved a theft case by arresting two thieves and recovered stolen batteries.
As per details, a written complaint was lodged at Police Station Kanachak by one Sikander Singh, son of Darshan Singh, resident of Gurhasingu, Bawa Talab Jammu regarding theft of two batteries from his truck (JK02CT-8281). On this, FIR No 154/2021 under Section 379 of IPC got registered and investigation started. After this, a team from Police Station Kanachak under the supervision of SDPO Domana, Sunil Singh was constituted. The team led by SHO Kanachak Insp Vishav Partap Singh assisted by PSI Ajesh Singh Jamwal did strenuous efforts and with help of CCTV footages of area, rounded up a suspect namely Bunty Sharma, son of Bishan Dass, resident of Jandian Thathi, Tehsil Bhalwal, Jammu. During sustained questioning, the accused confessed his involvement in the theft and disclosed that he sold two batteries to Raju Electricals situated at Kot Bhalwal. On his disclosure, two batteries were recovered from the possession of Raj Kumar, son of Girdhari Lal, resident of Seri Panta, Tartarocha, Tehsil Bhalwal, Jammu. Both accused persons were booked under relevant sections of law. The overall operation was done under the supervision of SP Rural Jammu, Sanjay Sharma.
