JAMMU, Apr 30: In a spectacular display of power-hitting, Chandan Rajput hammered a blistering double century to help Tawi Cricket Academy (TCA) register a crushing 6-wicket win over Champions Cricket Academy in the opening match of the 3-match series at Tawa Cricket Ground, Nardani.
Chasing a formidable target of 279 runs in 45 overs, Tawi Cricket Academy romped home in just 23.1 overs, thanks to Chandan’s explosive 202 off just 76 balls, studded with 21 boundaries and 16 towering sixes. Aryan Dassi added a quick 31, while Ashutosh Mahajan (18 not out) and Shourya Chouhan (13 not out) saw the team through comfortably. Ravi Singh was the pick of the bowlers for Champions CA, taking 2 wickets.
Earlier, Champions Cricket Academy, after winning the toss and electing to bat, posted a competitive 276 in 43.4 overs. Satvik top-scored with 83 off 76 balls (10 fours, 1 six), while Aryan Sharma made a brisk 43 off 31 balls with 5 fours and 3 sixes. For Tawi CA, Kritesh bowled impressively, taking 4 wickets for 38 runs in 8.3 overs. Praful Dhar and Sachin Singh chipped in with 2 wickets each. Chandan Rajput was declared Player of the Match for his match-winning knock.
