JAMMU: J&K BJP led by senior leaders organized “Run for Unity” Marathon on Sunday, the Birth Anniversary of Iron Man of India Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. BJP National General Secretary & Prabhari J&K Tarun Chugh along with J&K BJP President Ravinder Raina, MP Jugal Kishore Sharma, Mayor JMC Chander Mohan Gupta, General Secretary (Org.) Ashok Kaul, former Dy. CM Dr. Nirmal Singh, former Dy. CM Kavinder Gupta, Vice-President Yudhvir Sethi, former Minister & General Secretary Dr. Devinder Manyal, Spokesperson RS Pathania, former MLA Devender Rana, former Minister Surjit Salathia and other leaders led the Run from near Dr. Padma Sachdev Women’s College, Gandhi Nagar which culminated at Central Park, Bahu Plaza. Ch. Vikram Randhawa, Arvind Gupta, Vinay Gupta, Munish Khajuria, Purnima Sharma, Dr. Pardeep Mahotra, Sanjita Dogra, Arun Dev Jamwal, Sanjay Khanna, Ayodhya Gupta, Prem Gupta and others also participated in the “Run for Unity” programe. Tarun Chugh said that in order to give due respect to the architect of modern India, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and recognition to his contribution, BJP celebrates his birthday day every year.
He said that Patel was denied due respect for decades together due to the reasons best known to those at helm of affairs at that time. But PM Modi is very particular about remembering the great contribution of Patel. He said that Sardar Patel could have handled J&K affairs in a better way if allowed by Pt. Nehru. But due to the wrong policies of Pt. Nehru, Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh had to suffer for seven decades. Raina stressed that today the dream of great leader has come to life. He said that we are proud to see the moment of complete unification of India and this is due to the dream visualized by Patel and conceptualized and materialized by present Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi.
Jugal Kishore said that today the shackles of the 70 long black years have been removed. He said that we have assembled here, to mark the day of birth of the man who unified the whole Nation with his efforts and we are to tell his soul that we accomplished his remaining task with dignity.
