BJP launches blood donation drive across J&K on PM’s birthday

JAMMU, Sept 17: BJP today launched a massive blood donation campaign in Jammu and Kashmir to mark the birthday of Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, celebrating his lifelong commitment to service, humility, and dedication to the nation and society. The campaign also marks the beginning of the “Seva Pakhwada” (Service Fortnight) being observed from September 17, the birthday of Prime Minister, Modi, to October 2, the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi.
In Jammu region, the campaign was jointly led by J&K BJP president Sat Sharma (CA), Sunil Sharma, Leader of Opposition in J&K Assembly, and Jugal Kishore Sharma, MP (Lok Sabha). Senior leaders, MLAs, office bearers and activists enthusiastically participated across 11 organizational districts of Jammu region on the first day.
About 50 units of blood were donated in Kathua, 30 in Jammu, around 20 in Jammu South, 30 in Akhnoor, 26 in Rajouri, 50 in Poonch, 20 in Reasi, 40 in Udhampur, 10 in Ramban, two in Doda, and 20 in Kishtwar. The drive will continue in the coming days at the district and mandal levels to ensure maximum public participation.
Sat Sharma, addressing on the occasion, said that the true celebration of the birthday of our beloved Prime Minister, Narendra Modi lies in serving humanity. He said that the blood donation is the highest form of service because it gives life to the distressed, whether in cases of accidents, natural disasters like floods, or even war-like situations where blood is urgently needed.
Sunil Sharma said that every drop of blood donated today will save lives tomorrow. He said that the culture of service is what strengthens our nation. He said that the initiative of Seva Pakhwada is not just symbolic, it is a reminder that each of us has a role to play in nation-building.
Jugal Kishore Sharma also emphasized the significance of the campaign, saying that during regular as well as mass tragedies, be it accidents, earthquakes, or conflict situations, where blood is the first and foremost requirement to save lives.
Earlier in the day, Sat Sharma also participated in a cleanliness drive at Goushala and Shree Radha Krishan Temple, Shakti Nagar, and visited Mata Bawe Wali Mandir along with BJYM president Arun Prabhat Singh to pray for the Prime Minister’s long and healthy life. He, along with BJP leaders, also distributed ration material to the needy at Satwari, furthering the spirit of service that marks the Seva Pakhwada.
Under this series of Sewa Pakhwada, blood donation camps were organized under the supervision of BJYM, J&K led by its president Arun Prabhat Singh at GMC Bakshi Nagar.
In connection with PM’s birthday BJP MLA Jammu East, Yudhvir Sethi today led a cleanliness drive at Hari Singh Park under Sewa Pakhwada in the presence of Rakesh Kumar, Anil Masoom, Sumit Raina, Adarsh Kumar, Anil Sod and several other party functionaries and volunteers. On the occasion Yudhvir said cleanliness campaign reflects the vision of PM Modi’s Swachh Bharat Mission.
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) organized a series of blood donation camps across Kashmir to commemorate the birthday of Prime Minister, Narendra Modi and his lifelong spirit of selfless service to the nation.
The campaign in Kashmir was led by Ashok Koul, general secretary (Organization), J&K BJP, which witnessed an overwhelming response with over 600 units of blood donated across nine districts of Kashmir.
Ashok Koul, along with general secretary Anwar Khan, Prabhari Baramulla Bilal Parray, district president, Baramulla Ghulam Hassan Dar, Mir Mushtaq, and Dr. Farida, inaugurated one of the prominent blood donation camps at Dak Bangalow, Baramulla. He lauded the enthusiasm of party workers, youth, and volunteers for contributing to this noble cause.
In Central Kashmir, 80 units were collected in Srinagar, more than 30 units in Ganderbal, and 53 units in Budgam. South Kashmir witnessed 20 units in Pulwama, 42 in Shopian, 20 in Kulgam, and 80 in Anantnag. In North Kashmir, 50 units were donated in Baramulla and 48 in Bandipora. Additionally, BJP Yuva Morcha contributed 38 units, while the Minority Morcha organized special drives collecting nearly 150 units of blood.
BJP MLA Jammu West, Arvind Gupta and party MLA Jammu East donated blood at GMC Jammu on PM’s birthday while BJP MLA Bahu, Ch Vikram Randhawa participated in blood donation camp at Gandhi Nagar Hospital.
Sawachhta Abhiyan was organised at Jogi Gate under the leadership of Ramjodh Singh Nalwa president BJP Minority Morcha J&K.
BJP Swachh Bharat Abhiyan Department of JKUT led by Dil Bahadur Singh Jamwal and UT co incharge, T K Sharma launched Swachhta Abhiyan at Prachin Hanuman temple Manda.
BJP all cells led by Ved Sharma organised a programme at Satwari to celebrate PM’s birthday.
