LEH, Sep 3: The Union Territory administration in Ladakh has issued the Union Territory of Ladakh Registration of Contractors Rules, 2025, replacing the earlier Jammu and Kashmir Registration of Contractors Rules, 1991.
The notification, published on September 18 and released by the Public Works (R&B) Department, makes contractor registration mandatory for works under departments including Roads & Buildings, Public Health Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Power Development, Rural Development, and Tourism, among others.
It also defines the roles of contractors, departments, competent authorities, and sets out procedures for maintaining a Register of Contractors.
