SRINAGAR: Continuing its efforts to curb the outbreak of 2nd wave of Coronavirus, during last 24 hours Police has realised fine to the tune of Rs 6,59,680 from 4,543 people throughout the Kashmir valley for violating the various guidelines/ rules/ SoPs regarding COVID-19. The special drive against the violators of COVID-19 guidelines/ rules continued throughout all the districts of Kashmir Valley to ensure that people adhere to SOPs/guidelines envisaged by government to curb COVID-19 pandemic.
Community members are once again requested to cooperate with the Police in containing the spread of Coronavirus by following the SoPs/ guidelines/ protocols for their own safety and for the safety of others. The special drive shall continue throughout the districts of Kashmir Valley to strengthen the safety measures.
9 bovines rescued, 2 smugglers nabbed
KATHUA: In its continued efforts to eradicate menace of bovine smuggling from the society, District Police under the overall supervision of SSP Kathua, R C Kotwal, succeeded in foiling bovine smuggling attempt near Saktey Chak Naka Point on Thursday by rescuing 9 bovines and arrested 2 smugglers.
As per details, a police team led by Insp Vijay Kumar SHO Kathua under the supervision of DySP Headquarters Kathua Shammi Kumar during Naka checking duty at Saktey Chak intercepted a vehicle (HP73A-2477), which was driven by one Hamid, son of Akbar, resident of Pokka Tienla, District Kangra, Himachal Pradesh. On checking, 5 bovines were found laden in the vehicle. Thereafter, another suspicious vehicle (Mahindra Load-carrier) bearing registration No JK08-9496 was intercepted by a police party, which was driven by a person namely Munish Kumar, son of Manohar Lal, resident of Govindsar, Kathua. During checking, 4 more bovines were rescued, thus making a total of 9 bovines, which were rescued on the spot. Both the accused were arrested and vehicles were seized. FIR No. 294/2021 under section 188 of IPC and 11 of PCA Act was registered at Police Station Kathua.
