JAMMU, Sept 25: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Jammu & Kashmir, led by its senior leaders paid tribute to party ideologue, Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya on his 109th birth anniversary in various programmes held at booth level across the Union Territory (UT) of Jammu & Kashmir.
Sat Sharma, president, J&K BJP, who paid floral tribute along with vice-president, Rekha Mahajan, MLAs Yudhvir Sethi, RS Pathania, Pawan Sharma, and Balwant Singh Mankotia, district presidents Nand Kishore, Arun Gupta and Rajesh Gupta, and other senior leaders of party at various places at Jammu East, Jammu West, Udhampur, and Nagrota.
Speaking on the occasion, Sat Sharma said that Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya, born on September 25, 1916, and a prominent leader of the Bharatiya Jana Sangh, was not only a profound philosopher but also a guiding light for the nation. He has remained a source of ideological strength and moral inspiration for the BJP since its inception. He added that Upadhyaya’s philosophy of Integral Humanism and vision of Antyodaya are deeply reflected in every welfare initiative of the Modi Government, which is committed to empowering every section of society, socially, economically, and politically.
He further said that while no one lives forever, there are rare and noble souls like Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya who continue to live in the hearts of the people and inspire generations as role models.
Ashok Koul, general secretary (Organization), J&K BJP, along with general secretary, Sanjita Dogra, MLA Ch. Vikram Randhawa and other senior leaders, paid respects to the great leader at Jammu.
In his address, Ashok Koul said that from his early childhood, Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya faced numerous hardships, yet he never wavered from his mission of serving the nation and its people. His vision was to strengthen the social fabric, instil a spirit of patriotism, and uphold the principle of equality for all. He added that Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya lived a life of simplicity, fully devoted to the service of the nation. Personalities of such calibre are indeed very rare. He further emphasized that on this day, everyone should resolve to spread awareness about Pandit Ji’s nationalist ideology and pro-people principles.
Floral tribute were paid to Pt Deen Dayal Upadhyaya at booth number 66 and 67n in Ward 50 Channi Himmat, Jammu. The function was organised by former corporator, Neena Gupta who was joined by other leaders of party in paying homage to this great leader of the country.
Another function was held by BJP Minority Morcha at party office Trikuta Nagar under the leadership of Morcha’s vice president, Narinder Jain. On the occasion Morcha leaders, Surjit Singh, Jasmeet Kour Pandey, Joginder Singh Raju, Pawanjeet Singh, Prithpal Singh, Dr Surjeet Singh, Parvez Malik and other leaders paid glowing tribute to former president of Bharatiya Jana Sangh.
