MBIH organizes women’s empowerment programme

JAMMU, Sept 28:To uplift and empower women, the Mata Bhaderakali Institute of Handicrafts (MBIH) organized a special programme dedicated to promoting women’s entrepreneurship and self-reliance. The event witnessed the presence of several esteemed dignitaries and marked a significant step in the institute’s ongoing mission to support women through skill development and cultural preservation.
Dr. Arvind Karwani, Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioner, graced the occasion as the chief guest. In his address, Dr. Karwani lauded the institute’s tireless efforts in empowering women and guiding them toward self-sufficiency. He assured full support from the Department to strengthen these initiatives further.
Shivani Deonia, Dr. Neeraj Koul, Professor and Head, SMDV Narayana, and Ramesh Hangloo, Founder of Radio Sharda, were present as guests of honour. Each of them shared encouraging words with the participants.
Shivani Deonia urged the women to continue their efforts and emphasized the importance of keeping the Relief Department informed about their progress. She reaffirmed the department’s commitment to offering every possible support to the institute.
Dr. Neeraj Koul praised the women for staying actively engaged in meaningful work and expressed appreciation for their dedication. She also pledged support to the institution in all future endeavors.
Ramesh Hangloo, patron of the Institute and founder of Radio Sharda, shared insights into the inception of the institute and its journey. The event began with a warm welcome by Kiran Pandita, founder of the institute. She gave a detailed presentation about the journey, achievements, and future goals of the Mata Bhaderakali Institute of Handicrafts.
In celebration of Navratri, a Satsang was also held, where all participants and dignitaries took part in Pooja adding a spiritual and cultural dimension to the day.
The event was compered by Rohani Jotshi of Panchang Karailaya, Gole Gujral.
