SRINAGAR, Sept 29: The Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) J&K unit today said that the upcoming Assembly session must focus on addressing issues faced by the people.
Speaking to reporters, BJP chief spokesperson Altaf Thakur said the session should see elected representatives raising public concerns and holding the Government accountable for its assurances.
He also reminded the ruling National Conference (NC) of the promises it had made, which, he said, must be discussed in the House.
“I hope this session will focus on addressing the issues faced by the people and how these issues are resolved,” he said.
He added that the NC should work to ensure that people’s issues are addressed, with discussions on progress and development taking center stage.
“Especially the promises made to the people by the NC must be discussed.”
On India’s victory over Pakistan in the Asia Cup, Thakur said Team India had given the country a moment of joy and pride.
“There was Operation Sindoor, under which India defeated Pakistan and destroyed terrorist camps. This was like an Operation Sindoor on the field,” he remarked.
