DC reviews implementation of TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan in Udhampur

UDHAMPUR, Sept 30: Deputy Commissioner Udhampur Saloni Rai today chaired a meeting with officers of the Health Department to review the progress achieved in the implementation of TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan.
At the outset, Chief Medical Officer Dr. Anil Manhas and District Tuberculosis Officer Dr. Anil Saloch gave a detailed PowerPoint presentation on the district’s performance on the TB elimination front.
The DC also reviewed the implementation of the Ni-Kshay Mitra initiative, launched under the Pradhan Mantri TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan, which aims to provide additional support to TB patients and enhance treatment outcomes.
During the meeting, the DC assessed the status of testing, treatment success rates and Ni-Kshay Mitra registrations, directing authorities to expand TB testing and strengthen diagnostic facilities.
She stressed the importance of enhanced counseling to ensure early detection and timely treatment of TB cases.
The DC called for intensified awareness campaigns, increased testing and collective action to achieve TB eradication.
She instructed the concerned officers to work in close coordination to achieve 100% screening coverage by October 15, 2025.
The DTO was directed to organize dedicated health camps and conduct intensified awareness drives across the district to promptly identify and treat TB patients.
The DC also urged the general public to voluntarily register as Ni-Kshay Mitras to support TB patients and contribute to the national mission of a TB-free India.
