ITANAGAR, Sept 30: The Indian Army’s Spear Corps under Eastern Command successfully conducted Exercise Drone Kavach in the forward areas of eastern Arunachal Pradesh from September 25 to 28.
The exercise showcased the Indian Army’s combat readiness for next-generation drone warfare while validating state-of-the-art drone technologies and counter-drone systems, a Defence spokesman said today.
Spanning four days, the exercise was also attended by personnel of the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) deployed in forward areas.
As part of the exercise, a series of tactical manoeuvres were conducted and combat situations were created to validate preparedness for operating in a multi-domain, technology-driven battlefield scenario.
The training included target acquisition, active and passive counter-drone measures, and assured target neutralisation under simulated combat conditions.
Newly raised unit-level structures were also exercised to develop tactics, techniques, and procedures in line with the Army’s overall operational philosophy and mandated tasks.
The insights gained during the exercise will enhance the Army’s understanding of the future operational environment and strengthen preparedness for countering emerging drone threats.
Drone Kavach marks a significant step in the Indian Army’s commitment towards modernisation, technology absorption, and achieving operational excellence, the Guwahati-based Defence PRO Lt Col Mahendra Rawat said.
