JAMMU, Sept 30: The National Students’ Union of India (NSUI), J&K unit, staged a protest today against the alleged death threat issued to Leader of Opposition (LOP) Rahul Gandhi by a BJP spokesperson during a discussion programme on television.
The protest in front of Jammu University campus was led by NSUI J&K State President Ajay Lakhotra. Protesting NSUI activists raised slogans and demanded stringent action against the BJP spokesperson responsible for the alleged threat.
Addressing the media persons during the protest, State President Ajay Lakhotra condemned the purported threat in the strongest terms, stating: “This reflects the true ideology of the BJP, which aligns with the divisive and violent mindset of Godse. Rahul Gandhi is the voice of the people of India, resonating with millions of youth across the nation. No force can suppress his voice.”
The NSUI leader said that any attempt to harm Rahul Gandhi will have to face the unwavering resolve of millions of young Indians who stand united in his support. He warned that failure to take swift action against the BJP spokesperson would lead to widespread protests across the region.
“The NSUI reaffirms its commitment to safeguarding democratic values and ensuring the safety of leaders like Rahul Gandhi, who tirelessly champion the rights and aspirations of India’s youth and marginalized communities,” said Ajay Lakhotra.
The protest saw active participation of NSUI District President Manas Gandhi, State Secretary Rahul Mirza, State Chairman Social Media Rahul Sharma, along with Shivam Sharma, Sheel Kumar, Khalid, Zaheer, Aryan Raina, and other dedicated NSUI members.
