RAJOURI, Oct 1: On the occasion of Sewa Parv, Labour Department Rajouri today released financial assistance amounting to Rs 5,81,000 on account of education assistance among 121 registered construction workers.
The amount was released by MLA, Rajouri, Iftikhar Ahmed (Cong) in a function at Universal Delhi Public School, Rajouri.
The financial assistance was provided under the Building and Other Construction Workers (BOCW) Welfare Board schemes, which will support the workers for providing education to their children.
The event witnessed the active participation of prominent citizens and constructions workers of district Rajouri.
Speaking on the occasion, MLA, Rajouri appreciated the working of Labour Department and said that the department is dedicated to strengthen the social security net for workers. He impressed upon the officers of Labour department to ensure maximum coverage of the beneficiaries under labour welfare schemes. He added that the release of financial assistance among workers mark another step forward in the ongoing initiatives to promote welfare measures.
Pradyot Gupta, Assistant Labour Commissioner, Rajouri gave awareness about PMSBY, PMJJBY and PMSYM schemes for un-organized workers. He added that a large number of construction workers in Rajouri district get benefited under the schemes like death assistance, chronic disease assistance, permanent disability assistance, maternity benefit, marriage assistance and scholarship scheme for the wards of workers under Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Boards.
