JKTF discusses key issues, demands of teachers

RAMBAN, Oct 2: The Jammu & Kashmir Teachers Forum (JKTF), affiliated with the All India Secondary Teachers Federation (AISTF), convened a virtual meeting of its District Unit Ramban under the leadership of State President Mohd Ashraf Sheikh.
The meeting saw the active participation of senior office bearers and provided a vital platform for deliberating on pressing issues faced by the teaching fraternity, with a special focus on the concerns of Ramban district.
The members highlighted the prolonged delay in convening Departmental Promotion Committee (DPC) meetings, which has left many teachers awaiting promotion to the rank of Masters. Such delays, it was noted, are demoralizing and adversely affect the academic environment in schools. The Forum urged authorities to expedite the process so that deserving teachers are promoted without further hurdles.
Equally concerning was the long-pending mutual transfer list of teachers, which participants stressed must be cleared immediately, as teachers awaiting transfers on mutual grounds have been facing hardships for months. Alongside these, the Forum discussed day-to-day service-related grievances, including the need for timely resolution of service matters and effective implementation of welfare schemes.
The meeting was attended by several prominent leaders, including Mehmood ul Rayaz Bhat, Jalil Ahmed Sheikh, Nassir Ahmed Mir, Nasir ul Haq Bhat (District President Ramban), Ajeet Singh, Mustafa Kamal, Wasim Sajad Wani, Satinder Singh, Ch Ashraf and others.
