BANIHAL, Oct 2: National Conference leader and MLA Banihal, Sajjad Shaheen, has announced a major developmental push for Banihal-Gool constituency with the sanctioning of Rs 3.21 crore under Constituency Development Fund (CDF), along with additional works worth Rs 4.41crore under various Government schemes, taking the total to Rs 7.62 crore for the upcoming financial year.
Under the CDF, an amount of Rs 58 lakh has been earmarked for procurement of High-End Digital Smart Boards to be installed in 45 High and Higher Secondary Schools of the constituency, significantly boosting digital education and modern learning facilities.
The funds will also support augmentation of health infrastructure, drinking water hand pumps, civic amenities, improvement of roads, drainage, high mast street- lights, parks, foot-paths and community facilities.
Additionally, Rs 10 lakh has been sanctioned as relief and rehabilitation assistance for the families affected by land subsidence at Moila and Gobli Chunna, Gool.
Apart from the CDF, Shaheen has also secured sanction for developmental works worth Rs 441.31 lakh under different schemes for FY 2025-26, out of which Rs 207.14 lakh have been allocated exclusively for strengthening and improving educational infrastructure in schools across Banihal-Gool constituency.
Shaheen reiterated his commitment to ensuring that the backward constituency of Banihal-Gool receives focused attention in terms of modern education, healthcare facilities, civic infrastructure, and welfare measures for the affected families.
He emphasized that these developmental initiatives reflect his priority to empower the youth through education, strengthen basic amenities for the public and provide timely relief to the vulnerable sections.
