JAMMU, Oct 2: Crime Branch Jammu has filed a charge-sheet against a woman from Ramgarh area of Samba district and her two accomplices in a major job scam involving Rs 50 lakh.
According to officials, the accused, in criminal conspiracy with her aides—Dalip Singh of Gurha Brahamana, Bantallab, and Subhash Chander of Ramgarh—duped people on the pretext of arranging Government jobs.
The case was registered in 2024 on the complaint of Bubal Kumar of Kot Bhalwal, who alleged that the trio cheated him of Rs 50 lakh by promising jobs to his two sons and handing over fake appointment orders, officials said.
After investigation, they said, the charge-sheet was produced before the Railway Magistrate Court, Jammu.
“The woman and her accomplices are also facing another case registered this year,” official said.
According to them, an FIR number 54/2025 was lodged against them on the joint complaint of nine victims who alleged they were defrauded of Rs 1.27 crore in a similar job scam.
Senior Superintendent of Police, Crime Jammu, Benam Tosh confirmed that the charge-sheet in FIR number 56/2024 under sections 420, 465, 468, 120-B of IPC has been filed in court for judicial determination.
