JAMMU, Oct 2: Showcasing remarkable consistency with the bat, 19-year-old Aarav Mahajan, a talented top-order batter from Jammu, has earned a place in the 18-member Uttarakhand Ranji Trophy squad for the upcoming season.
Aarav’s selection comes on the back of a stellar run across multiple age-group tournaments, including the U-19 Cooch Behar Trophy, Vinoo Mankad Trophy and the Men’s U-23 CK Nayudu Trophy. He amassed nearly 700 runs, including three centuries and three fifties at the U-19 level. He also impressed in the U-23 format, scoring a composed 87-run knock in one of the CK Nayudu Trophy matches.
Further cementing his credentials, Aarav has participated in three National Cricket Academy (NCA) camps, including the most recent one at the BCCI’s Centre of Excellence (CoE). He narrowly missed national selection but was ranked 17th among the top run-getters across India at the U-19 level—an indicator of his rising stature in domestic cricket.
His inclusion in the Uttarakhand senior squad is seen as a significant step forward in his cricketing journey.
