JAMMU, Oct 5: The Deputy Commissioner Poonch has constituted a multi-departmental Sub-Divisional Level Task Force Cell to check illegal mining activities in the district.
Headed by the Assistant Commissioner Revenue or concerned SDM, the committee includes officers from Police, Revenue, Forest, Flood Control, Fisheries, and Geology & Mining departments.
The cell will assess illegal extraction of minerals, impose penalties, and ensure enforcement of SRO-105, SRO-302, and SO-60.
It will also verify if major mineral extraction is being done under the guise of minor minerals, prevent violations by miners and contractors, and conduct visits to mineral processing units to verify legal stock and submit weekly reports.
