Srinagar, Oct 8: To strengthen overall security and prevent any unlawful or anti-national activities, Anantnag Police, in coordination with jail authorities, conducted surprise checks inside District Jail Anantnag at Mattan today.
The raid, carried out by a police team, was primarily aimed at recovering contraband or any item that could pose a threat to security or public safety.
All barracks and common areas were thoroughly inspected in close coordination with jail staff, police said.
The operation was conducted peacefully and in accordance with legal and procedural norms.
