SRINAGAR, Oct 13: The UT-Level Junior Chess Championships 2025, organised by the All J&K Chess Association in collaboration with the J&K Sports Council, concluded today at Srinagar.
The championship saw the participation of around 40 talented players from various districts of Jammu and Kashmir in Under-15, Under-17 and Under-19 (Boys & Girls) categories. In the Under-19 Boys section, Malik Huzaif Bin Zahid secured 1st place, followed by Haardik Vashisth (2nd), Aarush Sharma (3rd) and Mohammad Qasim Bhat (4th). Faima topped the Under-19 Girls category, with Ansara 2nd, Shameet 3rd, and Fatima 4th. In the Under-17 Boys, Ishwam Kawatra emerged champion, followed by Malik Huzaif Bin Zahid, Haardik Vashisth and Mohammad Qasim Bhat. Ishanvi Sone won the Under-17 Girls title, with Fatima (2nd & 3rd) and Ishani Soni (4th). Aarush Sharma topped Under-15 Boys, followed by Ishwam Kawatra, Wajid Gowhar Tak and Haardik Vashisth. In the Under-15 Girls category, Ashwiina Raina bagged 1st place, with Fatima, Simrah Sajad, and Shifa Sajad finishing 2nd, 3rd, and 4th respectively. The winners will represent J&K in upcoming national-level championships under the All India Chess Federation (AICF).
