JAMMU, Oct 22: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Jammu & Kashmir General Secretary and former Deputy Mayor Jammu, Baldev Singh Billawaria, felicitated the sanitation workers of Jammu Municipal Corporation, acknowledging their relentless dedication and selfless service towards maintaining cleanliness in the city.
The felicitation ceremony was held during a simple yet deeply emotional event. While addressing the gathering, Billawaria said that sanitation workers are the true karmayogis who, regardless of the weather – be it the scorching heat or the chilling cold – work tirelessly day and night to keep the city clean and beautiful. He stated that cleanliness is not just a campaign but a mass movement and these sanitation workers are the frontline warriors of this mission. Billawaria highlighted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi, through the Swachh Bharat Mission has transformed cleanliness and hygiene into a national commitment. He said this mission can only be successful when every citizen takes collective responsibility for maintaining cleanliness and respects those who are continuously engaged in this noble work. He further emphasised that society must draw inspiration from these sanitation workers, who serve selflessly without expecting praise or recognition.
On this occasion, all sanitation workers were presented with certificates of appreciation, sweets, and gift items.
Billawaria also urged the Municipal Corporation and local bodies to regularly encourage and support such workers so that they continue to perform their duties with even greater enthusiasm.
Among those present at the event were Ranjit Singh, Dr Kuldeep Gupta, Om Nath, Sanjay Sharma, Anu Kumar, Kawaljeet Singh, and several others.
