JAMMU, Oct 23: In a grand felicitation ceremony held at the Natrang Studio Theatre, Natrang Jammu honoured several of its distinguished artists for their exceptional contributions in acting, production, and allied performing arts.
The event, presided over by Padmashri Balwant Thakur, Director of Natrang, celebrated the organization’s enduring legacy of over four decades in promoting creativity, discipline, and artistic excellence. Thakur presented mementos to the awardees, lauding their dedication and creative brilliance that have helped Natrang earn national and international acclaim.
Among those honoured were Suraj Singh, Neeraj Kant Sharma, Anil Tickoo, Sanjeev Gupta, Sumeet Sharma, Suraj Ganjoo, Subhash Jamwal, Mohd. Yaseen, Pawan Verma, Shivam Singh, Meenakshi Bhagat, Parvinder Singh, Kananpreet Kaur, Kushal Bhat, Vandana Thakur, Kartik Kumar, Aryan Sharma, Prerna Sharma, Simran Bhagat, Vansh Pandotra, Krishya Bhatia, Suhani Sareen, Lovish, and Tanisha.
In his address, Balwant Thakur reflected on Natrang’s 43-year journey from its modest beginnings to becoming one of India’s leading theatre institutions, with over 7,500 productions and performances to its credit. He emphasized that the recognition was not merely an award but a reaffirmation of Natrang’s commitment to nurturing and acknowledging artistic talent.
Thakur also outlined Natrang’s future vision – expanding training programmes, promoting youth involvement in theatre, and strengthening international collaborations to showcase Indian theatre globally.
The ceremony concluded with a standing ovation as the honoured artists expressed gratitude and renewed their commitment to Natrang’s mission of creating meaningful and socially relevant theatre.
