JAMMU, Oct 23: A moment of pride for the Jammu Hills Sports Club Foundation (JHSCF) as the official jersey for Jammu Duathlon 70.3 Edition 6 was unveiled today by Dr. Rakesh Minhas, Deputy Commissioner, Jammu.
The unveiling ceremony, attended by the Core Members of Jammu Hills Sports Club Foundation, marked the countdown to one of the region’s most awaited endurance events – Jammu Duathlon 70.3 Powered by APCO Infratech, scheduled to be held on October 26.
Now in its sixth edition, the Jammu Duathlon has grown remarkably over the years, attracting participants from across India. This year’s event will witness the participation of over 250 athletes competing in various categories, including a special Under-18 category, reinforcing the Foundation’s mission to empower youth and promote a culture of fitness and sports in the region.
Highlighting the dual essence of Cycling and Running, the Duathlon continues to inspire individuals to embrace endurance, discipline and a healthy lifestyle.
Dr. Rakesh Minhas lauded the efforts of the Foundation for engaging youth through fitness-driven initiatives. He said the spirit of the Jammu Duathlon aligns with the vision of Khelo India, emphasizing that, “Khelo India is not only about winning medals – it is an effort to give strength to a mass movement for playing more.”
Quoting Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he added, “It is gladdening to see youngsters from rural India and smaller cities excelling as sportspersons. These are also youngsters who need support, which the Government wants to provide.” The Jammu Hills Sports Club Foundation extended best wishes to all participants, celebrating endurance, sportsmanship, and the spirit of Jammu.
