44 new dengue cases reported

JAMMU, Oct 24: Forty-four new dengue cases were reported across the Jammu and Kashmir taking the total number of infections this year to 2,358.
As many as 248 tests were conducted on October 23. Of the new cases, 32 are males and 12 females, including 7 children and 37 adults. Udhampur district reported highest 21 cases, raising its total to 309. Kathua followed with 11 new cases, taking its cumulative tally to 645. Jammu recorded 10 cases while Samba and Kashmir region detected one case each.
So far, 21,350 dengue tests have been conducted this year-slightly lower than that recorded during the same period in 2024, whereas the total infections remain significantly lower than last year’s 4,120 cases.
Hospital data shows two new admissions today while six patients were discharged after they recover fully from illness. Five patients are still under treatment in various hospitals.
Health officials have urged people to remain alert, prevent mosquito breeding, and adopt protective measures such as using repellents and keeping surroundings clean.
