SURANKOTE, Oct 26: In a continued drive against illegal mining and transportation of minor minerals, District Police Poonch has achieved another success by seizing three tippers found carrying sand and gravel without valid permission in the jurisdiction of Police Station Surankote.
Police team led by SHO Inspector Aejaz Wani, during routine checking at Mirza Morh, a police team intercepted three tippers that were coming from the Bafliaz area. On inspection, the vehicles were found loaded with sand and gravel being transported illegally.
The drivers failed to produce any valid documents related to extraction or transportation of the material. Following the recovery, the Mining Department was informed accordingly for further legal action under the relevant provisions of law.
The seized vehicles have been taken into custody, and necessary proceedings have been initiated.
