JAMMU, Oct 26: The Department of Youth Services and Sports, District Jammu, today commenced the Inter-Zonal District Level Athletics Competition for AAG boys at the University of Jammu. The event witness around 300 boys from Government and private schools across the district compete in track and field events.
In U-14 Boys 100m, Yuraj Singh (Bishnah) claimed gold, Akmal Mahmood (Gandhi Nagar) silver and Anshu Kumar (Chowki Choura) bronze. U-17 Boys 100m winners were Toyiab Shad (Jammu), Arjun Jawaliya (Arnia) and Mohd Shoaib Khan (Satwari). U-19 Boys 100m saw Arun Dutta (Jammu) gold, Akmal Mahmood (Bishnah) silver and Anshu Kumar (Bhalwal) bronze.
In field events, Zeeshan Ali (Gandhi Nagar) won U-14 Discus, Vishal Partab (Bishnah) U-19 Discus, Vishal Kumar (Satwari) U-17 Triple Jump and Sachin Chib (Miran Sahib) U-19 Triple Jump. Other winners included Rudra Ranjan (U-14 400m), Momin Mirla (U-17 400m), and Tanish (U-19 300m). Silver and bronze positions were awarded to top performers from Zones including Jammu, Dansal, Bishnah, and Arnia.
The competition provides a platform for young athletes to showcase talent and compete for top honours in a professionally managed environment.
