POONCH, Oct 26: Jammu Kashmir Teachers’ Joint Action Committee organised one day convention of teachers on the theme, ” NEP 2020 and Drug De addiction” here today, under the leadership of UT General Secretary Najam Jafri and District President Poonch Sayeed Shahnawaz Hussain.
On the occasion, Deputy Commissioner Poonch Ashok Kumar Sharma was the chief guest. CEO Poonch Mukhtar Ahmed was the guest of honour and UT President JKTJAC Vinod Sharma , UT Chairman Saleem Sagar and EJCC Chairman Ajaz Ahmed Khan were present as the special guests.
Speaking on the occasion DC Poonch stressed for implementation of New Education Policy in Government Schools as per laid norms. He also asked all the presenters to make the society drug free by taking this campaign door to door.
CEO Poonch, while speaking, lauded role of the teaching fraternity to raise the standard of education as per New Education Policy 2020.
While speaking on the occasion, Vinod Sharma said that for improving the quality Education , the Government needs to focus on elementary education. For this, he added, each Primary school should be provided with two teachers and each Middle school should have at least six teachers. He also demanded incentives to Teachers working in far-flung areas .
UT Chairman Saleem Sagar demanded sanction of posts of Masters in Middle schools upgraded under SSA . He also appealed the Govt to implement Old Pension Scheme in favour of employees appointed on or after 01.01.2010.
UT General Secretary Najam Jafri, while speaking, demanded the release of pending Mid Day Meal dues as no grants have been released for 2025- 26 . He also demanded regularisation of left out ReTs and conversion of RRETs to Teachers Grade II/III,
Employees Joint Consultative Committee ( EJCC) Chairman Ajaz Ahmed Khan, while speaking on the occasion, demanded release of GP Fund bills of the employees of the UT.
Riazu ul Rehman, Sukesh Khajuria, Khazan Singh, Aftab Malik, Malik Ashraf, Manzoor Khan, Prashant Sharma, Azmat Iqbal, Abdul Qayoum, Abdul Rashid,Nazir Poshpuri, Mohd Arif Rathore and others also spoke on the occasion.
