Srinagar, Oct 27: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Monday assured that all formalities to provide land to landless families affected by recent floods have been completed and that relief will be distributed fairly.
Speaking in the J&K Assembly about the flood relief measures, CM Omar, said, “There is no fresh policy for flood-hit families because none is needed. As far as landless people are concerned, the paperwork has been completed, and they will receive land under the PMAY pattern.”
He further noted that the losses in Jammu have been assessed by a central team and the Union Agriculture Minister, confirming that they are comparable to the damages Kashmir suffered in 2014.
“The government has already communicated with the Centre regarding the relief package, and once it is received, it will be disbursed without any discrimination,” CM Omar added. (KNC)
