SRINAGAR, Oct 27: The 3rd collective Yagnopaveet ceremony organized by the Hindi Kashmiri Sangam (HKS), under the leadership of Prof Beena Budki, was held here today.
The ceremony was organized at the sacred shrine of Kheer Bhavani, Tulmulla, Ganderbal.
The event reflected the Sangam’s commitment to preserving and nurturing the spiritual and cultural heritage of the Kashmiri Pandit community.
The Yagnopaveet ceremony witnessed the sacred initiation of four young Kashmiri Pandit boys, Jai Tikku from Poland, Vijay Koul from Azerbaijan, Vipin Dhar from Australia and Rajesh Kakroo from Shahpur, Maharashtra.
The ceremony marked their formal entry into the spiritual and educational path of life, symbolizing learning, purity and responsibility.
Dressed in traditional attire, the boys performed the rituals with devotion, receiving blessings from priests and elders in an atmosphere of reverence and faith.
The event was conducted in a simple yet spiritually uplifting manner, centered on collective prayers for peace, harmony and prosperity in Jammu and Kashmir.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof Beena Budki expressed heartfelt gratitude to all participants and volunteers, emphasizing the importance of such gatherings in strengthening community unity and ensuring the continuity of the Kashmiri Pandit traditions among younger generations.
