SRINAGAR, Oct 28: The Government today informed the Legislative Assembly that 3,61,146 educated unemployed youth are currently registered across the Union Territory as of September 2025.

According to official figures, the Kashmir Division accounted for 2.08 lakh registrations, while 1.52 lakh were from the Jammu Division.
Among districts, Anantnag topped the list with 32,298 registered unemployed youth, followed by Pulwama (28,671), Kathua (26,798), Srinagar (23,826), and Kulgam (21,446).
The lowest numbers were reported from Kishtwar (8,870) and Reasi (12,376).
Of the total registered youth, 2,33,845 are male and 1,27,301 are female. The Government said the Employment Department, under Mission Youth and Mission YUVA, is targeting the creation of 4.25 lakh job opportunities through 1.37 lakh entrepreneurship units, with a focus on self-employment, StartUps, and skill development.
District-level Employment and Counselling Centres are also organizing Career Melas and Rozgar Melas to engage young people, foster innovation, and spread awareness about livelihood avenues.
“Our goal is to channelize the potential of educated youth into productive employment and entrepreneurship across Jammu and Kashmir,” the Government said.
