JAMMU: All Jammu Kashmir & Ladakh Teachers Federation (AJKLTF), affiliated to ‘Akhil Bharatiya Rashtriya Shaikshik Mahasangh’ (ABRSM), led by its President, Dev Raj Thakur and General Secretary, Rattan Sharma, started annual membership drive in Jammu on Sunday. A meeting of the State Executive body was also convened which was attended by a number of senior members. During the meeting, Jasmeet Singh Madaan, President, Teacher’s Welfare Association Jammu (TWAJ) along with a large number of fellow teachers joined AJKLTF and Teacher’s Welfare Association got subsumed in ABRSM. The newly joined members pledged to work honestly as per set principles.
While speaking on the occasion, Jasmeet Singh Madaan said that he along with his companions would remain committed towards teachers’ welfare. He further assured that he would work hard to further strengthen ABRSM in Jammu region. The state executive of AJKLTF led by Dev Raj Thakur welcomed all new members and expressed satisfaction over impressive performance of federation in last two and a half decades. Further, Rattan Sharma urged entire teaching community to strengthen ABRSM for ensuring a better future.
Various issues and demands of the teaching fraternity were also discussed on the occasion which included non-disbursal of salary to NPS employees from last two months, implementation of old pension scheme, holding DPCs for all teaching & Non-Teaching staff, formulating a transfer policy for teachers grade-II & III etc. The federation urged the LG to issues necessary instructions to concerned authorities for fulfilling all pending demands of the teaching fraternity at the earliest.
Those who AJKLTF included Subash Jamwal, Amit Dutta, Harshdeep, Joshpal Singh, Preet Dutta, Nitan Kumar, Prof Sanjay Samyal, Kulwant Singh, Vijay Sharma, Kishore Sharma, Chander, Gurdas Kumar, Sanjeev Kumar, Karan Singh, and Rakesh Kumar. Members of state executive body who were present in the meeting included Neeraj Sharma, Pawan Sharma, Rakesh, Naresh and Rahul.
