Senior Divisional Commercial Manager, Uchit Singhal told the Excelsior that these trains are being reinstated after ensuring the safety and continuity of the railway tracks.
“Train operations in the division are gradually being normalized and these trains are being operated in the sixth phase, having previously resumed five phases of trains,” he added.
Sharing more details, he informed that the trains resuming operations in the 6th phase include; Train number 19028 (Jammu Tawi – Bandra Terminus), resuming operations from 03.11.2025; Train number 15656 (Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra – Kamakhya), re-operating from 05.11.2025; Train number 14610 (Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra – Yoganagari Rishikesh), re-operating from 01.11.25 and Train number 19804 (Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra – Kota), resuming operations from 02.11.2025.

Pertinent to mention that due to continuous rain and water-logging in the Jammu Division of Northern Railway, many trains had to be cancelled and some had to be terminated before their destination since August 26, 2025. However, divisional officials are periodically reviewing various sections and ensuring train safety, and trains are being restored from time to time.
With the resumption of operations of more trains in the sixth phase, around eighty percent train traffic in Jammu will get normalized so far.
Meanwhile, in a significant milestone for the people of Reasi district, the Srinagar-Katra Vande Bharat Express stopped for the first time at Reasi Railway Station on Wednesday, marking a new chapter in rail connectivity here.
On this special occasion, the train was flagged off by the MLA, Reasi, Kuldeep Raj Dubey, during a formal ceremony. DDC Chairman Reasi, Saraf Singh Nag, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager, Uchit Singhal, and other senior railway officials were present on the occasion, and an enthusiastic crowd of over 500 local residents gathered to witness this historic moment.
The Srinagar-Katra Vande Bharat Express, train number 26401/26402, will have a two-minute stop at Reasi Railway Station. The train will depart from Katra Railway Station at 08:10 AM and arrive at Reasi Railway Station at 08:28 AM. It will then continue its journey towards Srinagar. Similarly, train number 26402 will return to Reasi Railway Station at 16:34 PM.
Earlier, this semi-high-speed Vande Bharat Express had only one intermediate stop – Banihal – between Katra and Srinagar. “The introduction of the stop at Reasi is a direct result of persistent public demand and aims to enhance travel convenience for passengers from Reasi and surrounding areas,” said Uchit Singhal.
The Katra-Srinagar Vande Bharat Express, inaugurated by the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, on June 6, 2025, has marked a milestone in the history of Indian Railways. It has become the first rail service to connect the Kashmir valley with the Jammu region via the world’s highest railway bridge – the Chenab Bridge. Since its inception, the train has received immense praise for its speed, comfort, and reliability.
Adding Reasi as a stopover will further strengthen the region’s connectivity, benefiting pilgrims visiting the Mata Vaishno Devi shrine and tourists visiting the Chenab Bridge and surrounding tourist destinations.
