RAJOURI, Oct 29: A young woman was found dead under mysterious circumstances in Hari Chumma Panchayat in Taryath area of Kalakote Sub Division in Rajouri district today.
Official sources said that the deceased has been identified as Jyoti Devi, aged around 31-32 years, wife of Subash Chander, a resident of Chumma village, in Teryath. The family members claimed that she committed suicide by hanging with her Dupatta from a window grills.
The matter was informed to police which rushed to the spot and shifted the body initially to CHC Taryath and later shifted to Sub-District Hospital, Kalakote for post-mortem examination to ascertain the exact cause of death.
The parents of the deceased woman have alleged foul play and termed the death as a case of murder. They said that husband of Jyoti works outside J&K and had come home hardly a month ago. They demanded fair investigation into the case. They said suicide from window grill is not possible, They have created drama to give twist to the murder.
Meanwhile, police have initiated inquest proceedings and assured that a fair and impartial investigation will be conducted to uncover the truth behind the incident.
