Champion cause of statehood restoration in Parliament: Dr Farooq to RS MPs

JAMMU, Oct 29: The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference President and former Chief Minister Dr Farooq Abdullah today urged the newly elected Rajya Sabha Member Parliaments (MPs) from his party to champion the cause of statehood restoration in the Parliament.
He also called upon Choudhary Mohammad Ramzan, Sajjad Kichloo, and Shammi Oberoi to utilize their vast experience in public service to effectively represent the aspirations of the people of Jammu and Kashmir in the Parliament.
Claiming that people of Jammu and Kashmir have immense expectations from their representatives, Abdullah told the MPs, “It is your duty to ensure that their voices are heard and their rights are safeguarded. The restoration of statehood remains a core demand of the National Conference as the first step towards the region’s journey of rights restoration.”
The Party President expressed confidence that the newly elected MPs would uphold the party’s values and continue its democratic struggle for dignity, justice, and rights of the people.
