Ultra arrested from hospital in Shopian, grenade hurled at SFs party in Kulgam

Srinagar: A policeman was martyred by terrorists in the Batamaloo area of the city on Sunday, officials said.
He was identified as Constable Tausif Ahmad, they said.
“At about 8 pm, terrorists fired upon JKP Constable Tausif Ahmad near his residence at SD Colony, Batamaloo,” the officials added.
They said the cop was critically injured and was taken to the SMHS hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead.
The area has been cordoned off, and a hunt has been launched to nab the attackers, the officials added.
In a related developments, terrorists hurled a grenade towards a security forces party in Kulgam district this evening, police said.
No loss of life or injury has been reported so far in the incident.
“At 6:25 pm, terrorists hurled a grenade upon 18 Bn CRPF party at Nehama chowk in district Kulgam which exploded on the roadside,” a police official said.
Further details were awaited.
Meanwhile, a terrorist of The Resistance Front (TRF) was arrested from a hospital in Shopian district, police said.
Police came to know that an active TRF terrorist, identified as Sohail Ahmad Lone of Hermain area of Shopian, was in the district hospital undergoing treatment, a police official said.
“He was taken into custody and has been admitted at SMHS hospital Srinagar in a critical condition,” the official said.
He said the terrorist has a bullet wound on the neck. Police is verifying the cause of the injury, the official said.
