JAMMU, Oct 30: A deputation of Shaheed Kisan Baba Jito Sangharsh Samiti here today met SDM Marh, Pallavi Mishra and discussed Baba Jito Jhiri Mela arrangements, being organised under the supervision of SDM Mishra.
The deputation informed that last year, extremely vulgar posters about women were displayed at a stall named ‘Jal Pari’ after which the Sangharsh Samiti members staged protests and the Government realized that the public sentiments were hurt but none of the Government officials acted which forced the Samiti to remove the posters.
Sangharsh Samiti demanded that no such poster should be displayed at the fair this year nor should there be any circus stalls with objectionable posters or stalls that may offend Hindu sentiments.
“Dogri artists should be invited on the day of inauguration of the Mela to give boost to Dogra culture,” the deputation members maintained.
SDM Pallavi Mishra assured that this time the fair is being organised on a big scale in which no faith will be hurt.
“There will be no obscene poster or any such stall at the Mela which would invite objection from the people,” she maintained also assured that only Dogri artists would be invited on the inauguration of the fair.
This delegation included Arun, Deepak Raj Pandey, Deepan, Ravi Tangotra, Kapil Mahara, Neeraj Singh Langeh, Param Jyoti, Aakash Koul etc.
